Early Intervention & Training
Supporting families to develop skills from 18 months of age!
STAR Language and Literacy can support your very young child's communication development.
Star Language and Literacy is trained in the following well-established and researched Hanen parent education training programmes:
It Takes Two To Talk, for children from birth to 5 years of age with a language delay. Suitable for any (suspected) diagnosis, e.g. Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, hearing impairment, childhood head injury.
More Than Words, for children who are formally diagnosed with autism, are in the process or a formal or suspected diagnosis or autism, or require more complex support.
Target Word, for children who are "late talkers" - under 30 months using only a few words or are at least 24 months old and are not using 2-word combinations.
TalkAbility, for verbal children aged from 4 years old who have social communication difficulties.
These programmes can be run individually or within small groups. Keep an eye on Star Language and Literacy's Vidzing Channel for when these are available as an online group. Alternatively, if you can gather a group of 8 committed families, we can run a group just for you - online or in person in the Tauranga region!
For more information, or to register, check out our programmes page.
We offer engaging one-on-one appointments either in person in Tauranga or online via teletherapy in a convenient and confidential format. STAR early language intervention begins at whatever level the child is at, and will guide you with effective strategies and tools to help your young one communicate.
